The client/therapist relationship is primary to the success of therapy. You and I will work together on family and relationship issues that are often at the core of personal challenges. We might work with existential questions in your search for more meaning in your life. Together we will explore unconscious issues, "stuck" places and emotions such as fear and anger using a variety of therapeutic methods tailored to your needs and wishes.
The body is an important source of information, in that memories of early childhood wounding are stored at a cellular level. Breath work, guided imagery, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, a process for working with trauma) are some of the tools we can use to access this information. These methods will enable us to explore personal growth and life transitions in the physical, metaphysical, existential and philosophical realms.
As a graduate of John F. Kennedy University, I received my Masters Degree in Professional Psychology, 1996. My training and experience at JFKU, my coursework at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), and my previous career as a certified massage therapist and body worker, have all contributed to my holistic perspective on healing and personal growth. I have practiced in Oakland, Berkeley and surrounding communities for many years using my extensive training and experience in grief and loss, and crisis intervention and management. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), the effects of childhood trauma on adult life, relationships, inter-personal communication, and intimacy. Adolescents and adults, individuals, couples of all orientations are welcome into my practice. Please contact me at (510) 873-0303 with any questions you may have or to explore the possibility of working together. I would be honored to help facilitate your journey toward fulfilling your deepest potentials and dreams. |
